The Wollongong Hawks have squared their three game pre-season series with the Sky City Breakers.
The Hawks have beaten the reigning Australian basketball league champions 64-61 in Dunedin after the Breakers prevailed in the tour opener in Christchurch.
Alex Pledger top scored for the Breakers with 18 points, while imports Cedric Jackson and Will Hudson had 10 points a piece.
Hudson is relishing the opportunity to see different parts of New Zealand.
"I've got to charge up everything when I get back to the hotel room because I'm just trying to snap as many pictures as I can because you never know the next time you'll be down in these areas in your lifetime."
He says he feels it was a success despite the result.
"It's a great experience to come down here and play in front of fans and people of New Zealand who don't normally get to come up to see any games in the North Island up in Auckland."
The two sides conclude their pre-season series in Hamilton tomorrow night.
Veteran guard CJ Bruton will miss the game after he bruised his sternum in Dunedin.
Hudson says doesn't think the injury is serious.
"He got the wind knocked out of him so he's out here moving around signing some autographs so I think he'll be fine. Just need a little rest and he'll be ready to battle again."
