Boxer David Tua last night announced the end of his 10-year relationship with US-based promoter Cedric Kushner.
Tua was quick to add that he was not retiring but entering a new phase in his career.
"My future is bright and after 20 years fighting professionally I am finally in sole charge of my career."
Tua said it was time to move on to the next chapter, which included a relationship with Sky Television.
He had had a lot of interest from different fighters but would take his time to decide on future bouts.
"All I can tell you is that I am highly motivated. The coming years for me are going to be some of the most successful of my career."
Kushner said he wished Tua all the best.
"I still believe that he can become heavyweight champion of the world."
