Arsenal newcomer Carl Jenkinson has made an early impression at the club, for the wrong reason however, after scoring a freakish own goal in a friendly during the weekend.
The 19-year-old defender accidentally sent a volley from more than 20 metres out over the top of his goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny during a pre-season match against German side FC Cologne.
Jenkinson, who signed with Arsenal from Charlton during the off season, scored the own goal just before halftime and was then subbed off at the break.
Arsenal debutant Gervinho scored two first half goals to secure a 2-1 for the English Premier League side.
A YouTube video of the goal has already attracted almost than 170,000 views.

Meanwhile Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli may have hurt his chances of a regular spot after being replaced by manager Roberto Mancini
for attempting a tame backheal shot
during a friendly against the LA Galaxy.
After breaking free to face a one-on-one with the Galaxy keeper, instead of taking a shot the Italian striker turned around to produce a backheal attempt which went wide.
Seconds after the bizarre shot Mancini called James Milner up from the bench to replace Balotelli.
City eventually won the match on penalties.
