A fierce bidding war between two men for Sonny Bill Williams' first signed All Blacks jersey raised $3600 at earthquake-damaged Halswell School in Christchurch.
The school suffered badly in the September 4 quake and its future is still uncertain.
Organisers said a man on his way to bid for another jersey at Ilam School fair diverted after hearing on the radio that Halswell had Sonny Bill's jersey.
