Hockey: NZ draw 3-3 with China in warmup match

New Zealand tuned up for tomorrow's Champions Trophy men's hockey tournament opener with a 3-3 draw with China in Lahore.

North Harbour forward Lloyd Stephenson scored twice in the warmup match while Canterbury's Gareth Brooks added the other goal.

New Zealand came back from a 0-2 deficit with a much improved second half performance.

Their other warmup matches this week resulted in a 0-5 loss to Pakistan and a 4-1 win over Germany.

New Zealand have a tough tournament opener against Olympic silver medallists the Netherlands tomorrow (5.55pm NZT).
