Kiwi golfers Danny Lee and Tim Wilkinson have both gone over the card and fallen down the leaderboard at the Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.
Lee fired a two-over 72 during his third round today as he slipped to a share of 22nd at four-under for the tournament, while Manawatu's Wilkinson was worse off as he carded a five-over 75, in a round that included three bogeys and a double, as he fell to a tie for 59th at even-par for the week.
American Jim Furyk (-15) has a three-stroke lead over South Africa's Tim Clark (-12) heading in to the final round.
Lee and Wilkinson will want to produce solid final rounds at the Royal Montreal Golf Club tomorrow as they look to hold on to their PGA Tour cards ahead of next season.
Heading in to this week's event, Lee was in 105th spot on the FedEx Cup standings with Wilkinson in 107th. The top 125 players at season's end retain their tour cards for next year. There are eight tournaments left in 2013-2014 season.
Meanwhile, on the second-tier Web.com Tour, Hamilton's Steven Alker enjoyed a birdie-laden back nine as he fired a four-under 67 during the third round of the Midwest Classic in Kansas.
Alker's round moved him to a share of 15th place at 10-under for the week, 10 shots back from leader Zack Sucher (-20). Sucher is three strokes ahead of American Aaron Watkins (-17).
The 42-year-old Alker, who came in to this week's tournament in ninth place on the Web.com Tour's money list, has all but secured his PGA Tour card for next season with the top 25 players from the second-tier circuit getting a card for the 2014-2015 campaign.
At the Senior Open Championship at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in Wales, Kiwi Greg Turner is in a share of 15th at one-over after three rounds.
Turner shot a five-under 66 during his third round today, which included a hole-in-one at the par-three 15th.
Germany's Bernhard Langer, who is the runaway leader at -14, will take an eight-shot advantage in to the final round, with Canada's Rick Gibson (-6) in second.
