Star Australian point guard Dante Exum is set to be out for the Olympic qualifying series against the Tall Blacks after suffering a serious injury this morning.
Exum, who plays for the Utah Jazz, went down on a non-contact play against Slovenia this morning as he looked to hop-step into the lane.
It has been reported that Exum has torn his ACL, with the up-and-coming prospect returning to Utah for further evaluation on the injury.
Exum could miss the entire NBA season if the diagnosis is true, and it also means he will not play against the Tall Blacks in their two-game series starting on August 15.
Exum would join fellow NBA players Aron Baynes, Patty Mills and Joe Ingles as being unavailable for Australia for the Olympic qualifying series, while the Tall Blacks are without Steven Adams and Kirk Penney (unavailable), as well as Beny Anthony and Alex Pledger (injury).
The Boomers beat Slovenia 66-51 as they near the end of their European preparation.
