Tom Walsh has been recognised as one of track and field's best male athletes.
The kiwi shot putter has been shortlisted for world athlete of the year ahead of the IAAF Athletics Awards 2018, for a season that saw him win the world indoor title as well as the Diamond League and Commonwealth Games.
Walsh also had the longest shot put throw since 2003.
The 2017 outdoor world champion says it's special to be recognised for the first time.
The winners will be revealed in early December.
