National womens 100m champion Zoe Hobbs went within a hundredth of a second of her personal best with a convincing win in a top class race. After opening up a big lead early in the race over the chasing pack he was slowly wound in by a hard-chasing Dougal Thorburn. But, with 200 metres to go and Thorburn right on his shoulder, Sexton found one more gear and won in 4.22. Thorburn recorded 4:25 and Russell Scott was third in 4:27.
