The upgrade of Eden Park for the 2011 Rugby World Cup has passed its final major regulatory hurdle, the park's redevelopment board said yesterday.
Board chairman John Waller said the last two resource consents sought had been granted, bringing to an end "a very long, but ultimately satisfying, process".
He acknowledged that a small number of residents still had concerns about the redevelopment.
But he believed there was growing acceptance that the project would be good for the neighbourhood and the city.
