In another action-packed round of Rotorua/Taupo Senior Reserve Grade cricket, the standout performers were Bay of Plenty Indians.
Batting first against Central CC at Ray Boord Park, the Rotorua-based side scored a whopping 382 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 40 overs.
Shukhi Singh did most of the damage with 105 runs. He was well supported by Yash Patel (80) and Umesh Moraji (68).
In reply, and under pressure to score quickly, Central could only manage 148 all out. Their best batsman was Nathan Hall with 60 runs, while the best of the Bay of Plenty Indian bowlers were Harjinder Singh (4/39) and Navpreet Singh (3/10).
Meanwhile, in a more low scoring affair, Lake Taupo produced a five-wicket win against Geyser City John Paul College Old Boys.
Geyser JPC were bowled out for 142 runs, Kane Vanner was the top scorer with 63 runs. For Lake Taupo Blake Roigard picked up six wickets for 43 runs and Darryn Wilkins took 2/22.
The Lake Taupo chase was led by Ray How and Paul Davey, who scored 36 and 32 not out respectively. Jono Collier was the best of the Geyser JPC bowlers with 3/37.
It was a better day at the office for Geyser City's Western Heights Old Boys side as they cruised to victory against Taupo Old Boys.
Taupo batted first and were all out for just 89. Matt Collier (4/20) and Josh Simpson (3/30) were the best of the bowlers.
Geyser WHHS chased down the target in 14 overs for the loss of three wickets. Richie Downs anchored the innings with 43 not out.
It was a milestone day for Geyser City Western Heights High School Old Boys bowler Matt Mitchell who took his 100th wicket for the club.
