Pacific have recorded a 50-18 victory a week out from their big match up with Pikiao.
Defending champions Pacific (Tokoroa) have been in great form this season and turned on another good performance on Saturday to defeat newly-promoted Mangakino 50-18.
Mangakino have shown plenty of heart since coming up to the premier division this year and did well against one of the best teams in the competition.
Pacific and Pikiao are the only undefeated sides this year and will meet this Saturday at Memorial Park in Tokoroa.
Pikiao have not had a great build-up to the big encounter after two weeks without a match. Last weekend they had the Easter break and Forestland defaulted to them on Saturday, after not having enough players show up for their game at Puketawhero Park.
Forestland were fined $300, but that will do little to help Pikiao prepare for the big game this weekend.
In the other premier game on Saturday, Taupo were too good for Central (Rotorua) who slumped to their fourth straight loss this season, 60-10.
In the reserve grade, Pacific defeated Pikiao Reserves, Reporoa defeated Putaruru, and Tauhara got the better of Pikiao Seniors in a close match.
Bay of Plenty District Rugby League results on Saturday:
Premier grade: Pacific 50 Mangakino 18, Taupo 60 Central 10, Pikiao win by default against Forestland, Ngongotaha bye.
Reserve grade: Pacific 50 Pikiao Res 38, Putaruru 28 Reporoa 56, Tauhara 30 Pikiao Snrs 22, Turangi bye.
