Geyser JPC Old Boys' have denied the Bay of Plenty Indians their fifth consecutive 20/20 title with a comprehensive win at Smallbone Park.
The Lakeland 20/20 grand final was held on Sunday after being postponed due to rain last month.
Batting first, the BOP Indians were in immediate trouble with talisman Umesh Morarji out in the first over.
Three quick wickets later and only five runs on the board, the Indian side never really recovered, limping to 74/9 off their 20 overs.
Jono Collier, Param Singh and Connor Scott were the best with the ball for Geyser, taking two wickets each, and were backed up with some good fielding, notably from Manny Kumar who took four catches including one superb effort.
A first-ball duck for Cameron Wood caused some tension for Geyser at the start of their batting innings but Singh eased the nerves on the Smallbone Park balcony with two big sixes on his way to 27 off 16 balls.
Kumar and Kane Vanner completed the job to see Geyser win by six wickets and claim their first title.
SCORECARD:
