A Unison spokeswoman said power has now been restored to all affected customers in the Glenholme area.
She said the outage lasted about ten minutes.
She did not know what had caused the outage.
More than 1300 customers are without power in Glenholme, including Central Mall.
The unplanned outage started at 1.31pm and is expected to be resolved by 3.01pm
It is not yet known what has caused the outage.
