A local teenager has been selected to take part in live castings for the Pacific Runway show in Sydney later this year.
Western Heights High School student Sharn Tapsell, 17, will be sending in a video for the live casting.
There were up to 300 applications within Australia and worldwide, and only 95 models between children and adults can be accepted to walk in the fashion show.
To apply for the casting she had to send in photos and body information, such as her height, and information about her previous experience in modelling.
Sharn says she is nervous about the upcoming casting walk, but is also excited.
"It was overwhelming, but I felt grateful for an opportunity like that."
Sharn says she is nervous because there are so many other people taking part in the casting and it is putting herself out there.
She says she has been in runway shows before, but not a big one like Pacific Runway.
Sharn says she had done more photo shoots than runway shows, including being featured as one of the faces on billboards for the launch of Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology.
What she enjoys about runway shows is meeting people and the designers, and seeing how they work.
"A lot of them have such beautiful clothes and do really well for themselves."
She says the timing of the casting is great, as she is considering moving to Sydney next year when she finishes high school.
Her brother lives in Sydney working in TV and she says she has been to visit a few times and really likes it.
