The winning creative photos showing how locals interpret The Rotorua Way have been announced, with 16-year-old Esmee Watson winning the 13 to 17 youth award and the People's Choice.
The winners were selected by four judges - Sally Smyth, Ross Dunne, Tania Tapsell and Hone Morris.
Each photo was selected for its creativity and uniqueness, and the way it represented the four strands identified in The Rotorua Way consultation - an easy lifestyle, diverse opportunities, active environment and strong culture.
The winners were: 18 and over - Matt Gould, 13 to 17 (youth) - Esmee Watson, 12 and under - Mosalves Children and Classroom - Room 5, Lynmore Primary School.
Esmee Watson's photo was the People's Choice winner.
There were 93 photos submitted.
Esmee says she was trying to think of what people would recognise and what was unique about Rotorua.
The Rotorua Museum has a lot of history behind it and it is iconic for our city, she says.
In her entry she says: "Rotorua is beautiful, and I decided to portray this within a beautiful photo. I've included a photo of the Rotorua Museum as it is iconic to Rotorua regardless of whether it can be used or not. I believe Rotorua will always be beautiful as long as we look after our city."
Esmee entered the competition with the encouragement of her mother because she enjoys photography.
She says she was "stoked" and surprised when she found out she not only won a category, but was also the People's Choice.
Esmee is doing photography this year at Western Heights High School.
She likes how creative the subject is and how "there are no limits to what you can do".
She thanks everyone who voted.
