Two roads affected by slips around the Rotorua district have reopened but more bad weather is on the way.
Rotorua Lakes Council said Hamurana and Longview Rds both opened on Saturday after slips earlier in the week forced the roads' closure.
However Manawahe Rd remained closed today.
Meanwhile MetService forecaster Peter Little said while the week was set to start off okay weather-wise, with just the odd shower, rain was expected to return on Wednesday and there was the chance it could be heavy.
"Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are looking to be quite wet. There certainly is a risk it could be heavy rain."
He recommended people keep an eye on the severe weather outlook published on the MetService website as it got closer to the end of the week.
"There is certainly a risk of heavy rain for Rotorua and the whole Bay of Plenty."
The outlook:
Monday: Cloudy periods, the odd shower. Light winds.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers, mainly in the evening. Northeasterlies.
Wednesday: Few showers, turning to rain in the afternoon, chance heavy. Northeasterlies.
Thursday: Rain, possibly heavy with northeasterlies.
