About 2000 customers were without power in Rotorua this morning after a tree fell on power lines.
A tree went through the lines on Te Ngae Rd near the intersection with State Highway 33 about 9.30am.
Unison power spokesman Danny Gough said initially 2000 customers were without power.
"Most of those had there power restored within half an hour with all but 50 back on now."

Mr Gough said workers were at the scene carrying out "live line work" to get all remaining customers back online.
"Unfortunately trees are our arch enemy," he said.
