Owhata have won the Rotorua Association's championship inter-club title for the Charlie Jones Memorial Trophy.
The team, made up of Derek Owen, Gina Owen, Alan Gordon, Delwyn Hughes, Brian Flett, James Schuster, Wayne Hitchens and Christina Kingi, won the event held at Westbrook Primary School on Sunday.
Owhata led from the first round of fours when they won both their games and was never headed throughout the tournament. Owhata clinched the title with 35 pts, Rotorua Club 30.5, Westbrook 26 and Ngongotaha 22.5.
Four points were awarded for a win in the fours, two points in the pairs and one point in the singles.
Gina Owen was the top scorer for Owhata with six wins followed by Schuster and Kingi with five wins each.
Meanwhile on Saturday Bay of Plenty won the Membery Trophy Development fixture at Taupo for the fifth time.
Bay of Plenty won previously in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
They finished with 91 points followed by Waikato 68 and Hawkes Bay 57.
- Seven Bay of Plenty indoor bowlers have been named to compete in the annual fixtures against the South Island at the National Championships at Tauranga on June 15.
Shanna Riley (Selwyn Heights) Robin Porter, Jacque Porter and Matthew Farquhar (Lake Taupo) are in the North Island Academy team and Derek Owen and Hughes (Owhata) and Chris Guy (Lake Taupo) are in the Northern Zone Masters team.
