The Rotorua Little Theatre's new comedy has something in it everyone will be able to recognise from their own life, according to its director.
Bedroom Farce, opening at the Shambles Theatre this Friday, is a comedy involving four couples in all different stages of married life.
On a night which should be celebratory, with a wedding anniversary and a housewarming, a fight between one couple sends everything off the rails.
Director Remo Royall Malcolm said the play was written in the 70s by popular playwright Alan Ayckbourn, who had written more than 70 plays.
Bedroom Farce had not been done at Shambles Theatre before as it needed three bedrooms to be set up on stage.
In the past, the stage wasn't big enough but now it was able to accommodate the set, she said. Ms Malcolm said the local cast of eight had been rehearsing for eight weeks, three times a week.
She urged locals to get along to the play.
Bedroom Farce runs from Friday to May 7 at 8pm, except for the matinee show on Sunday, April 24 at 4pm.
Tickets are available for booking at the Shambles Theatre box office from Monday to Saturday 11am to 2pm or by calling (07) 348 8614. There will also be door sales.
