The Maori Volcanics Showband is set to perform in Rotorua on Friday night - with organisers hoping for a strong turnout.

The band will perform at Kalah Bar in Ngongotaha with tickets available from the venue for $25

Promotions manager Annette Paki said The Maori Volcanics were one of the most famous and longest running of the Maori showbands and were still wowing audiences.

The showband features icons Mahora and Billy Peters who have performed extensively overseas.

The pair have become icons in New Zealand and globally by continuing the tradition of The Maori Volcanics for more than 40 years.

Ms Paki said she hoped for a good showing at the Rotorua performance.
