It's all about the canine companions at Sunday's Dogs' Day Out.
From cafes with doggie treats, to two different walks to cater for both the big and small pooches, there will be plenty to keep both the dogs and their owners occupied.
The event, sponsored by VETPlus, is the major fundraiser for the Rotorua SPCA and has been running for the past five years.
SPCA's Karen Rolfe said that, as well as providing a great day out for families, it also helped the SPCA with the important work it did such as desexing animals and helping to care for sick animals.
The events takes place at Scion's grounds on Sala St.
Ms Rolfe said people can register their dogs from 9.30am, with the walk starting at 10.30am. The registration fee is $7 per dog.
She said there would be doggie displays, competitions like the best dressed dog, and raffles and food for both humans and pooches.
This year they had decided to have two different length walks - a shorter one for the smaller dogs and a longer one for the bigger dogs.
"We used to have just one walk and the little dogs couldn't manage it."
The event normally attracts between 350 and 400 dogs, with their owners and supporters.
She said it was important for people to be sun safe and bring hats, sunscreen and water.
The event will also feature a dog show by Chelsea Marriner.
