Rotorua radio host Paul Hickey says he's "over the moon" with the results of the latest TNS New Zealand Commercial Survey results.
He said the radio survey results, which were released on Friday, showed more locals were tuning in to his 9am to 3pm show on weekdays.
Earlier this year Classic Hits became The Hits, with Mr Hickey's local breakfast slot replaced by Polly Gillespie and Grant Kereama in the "Polly and Grant" show, broadcast nationwide.
Mr Hickey instead took over the six-hour daytime show.
"I'm very happy with the results, considering all the changes that have been underway the last six months.
"It [the survey] shows more people are listening to the show, and are listening for longer," he said.
"People are really responding well to the six-hour show, personally, I'm over the moon."
The survey, conducted over six weeks and sampling 806 Rotorua people aged 10 years and over, found that overall Flava had the most listeners, with 8400 different people tuning in each week.
The Edge was in second place followed by Coast, The Rock and The Hits in fifth with 5900 listeners.
The commercial radio station with the highest market share in Rotorua was Coast with a 16.6 per cent share of the market, with The Edge coming in second and The Rock in third place.
Flava was in fourth position with The Hits in fifth.
Nationally, NewstalkZB and Mike Hosking led the way, dominating as the number one station nationwide and New Zealand's number one breakfast show. Nationwide Coast was also the number one first equal music station.
