The Rotorua District Council is giving residents the opportunity to discuss proposals in its draft Annual Plan for the next financial year at a public meeting this week.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 5pm at the council Civic Centre and any interested Rotorua resident is welcome to attend.
The draft plan identifies council programmes and projects for the coming year, including proposals to support the Rotorua 2030 vision.
Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick wants to encourage residents to share their views with the council before submissions on the draft plan close on May 2.
"The public meeting and the whole consultation process is an opportunity for the community to tell us if we remain on track with our detailed proposals for the coming financial year as set out in the draft annual plan.
"We're even prepared to come along and meet with community groups to discuss our proposals and listen to their views as community engagement is a critical component in developing our forward plans.
"The council needs to know whether our proposals are backed by residents, so we're urging Rotorua people to use the submission process to give us their views.
"Nothing is set in concrete yet as we want community feedback before we finalise our plan."
The full 130 page draft Annual Plan and online submission forms are available on the
council's website at www.rdc.govt.nz.
Submission forms and summaries of the draft plan can also be picked up from the council's Customer Centre, City Focus or Library.
