The group are no strangers to Rotorua audiences, having performed at various venues in the city as well as Raggamuffin, where they will return next year to play alongside the usual lineup of accomplished international artists.
Over the past decade, the band have built a loyal following with performances in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Perkins, who has played with Herbs and Twelve Tribes of Israel, set up a youth music centre in Wanganui almost 10 years ago.
Seeing the band live is unforgettable and a rare mix of "power and beauty" the band's website says. House of Shem's "incredible tightness, heavenly harmonies, conscious lyrics and blend of traditional and contemporary reggae styles will leave you spellbound".
