Two former Rotorua Boys' High School students Barry Colman and Neville Crichton have again made this year's National Business Review rich list.
Mr Colman, who formerly owned and operated the National Business Review, is ranked 68 on New Zealand's rich list up from 87 last year. Mr Colman sold the National Business Review last year.
He began his career in the media as a cadet reporter at the Rotorua Daily Post in 1964. He was worth $105 million this time last year and is now worth $145 million.
Mr Crichton, who left school at the age of 14, has been ranked at 64 down from his 58 ranking last year.
Mr Crichton's wealth has come from success in the automotive business. In 2011 he was valued at $165 million, and that climbed to $175 million last year and remains unchanged this year.
Mr Crichton, who is a champion sailor as well as a successful businessman, was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and yachting in this year's Queen's Birthday honours.
The Sydney-based Kiwi migrated to Australia in the early 1980s where he founded Ateco Group, which today imports Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Citroen vehicles into New Zealand and across the Tasman.
Property entrepreneur John Sax, who owns the award-winning Treetops Lodge, is ranked 103 and is worth $100 million. Last year he was ranked 108 on the rich list and was worth $85 million.
Taupo businessman and philanthropist Richard Izard is ranked 133 and is worth $75 million.
