Some of Rotorua's children will be shaking their hips for a good cause - victims of the Canterbury earthquake.
The 46 children who are part of the Kapai Choice kids' holiday programme will perform an earthquake appeal concert on Thursday at the Cook Island Hall, 101A Clayton Rd.
The programme's supervisor and chairwoman of Rotorua's Cook Island Society, Tere Piua, said they wanted to do their bit for the earthquake appeal.
Children aged from 5 to 13, will perform hip hop dance, Zumba and hula and there will be a song performed by some of the girls.
The concert, which is open to children and adults, will start at 1pm and will run for an hour followed by a disco.
A similar concert raised $308 for victims of the tsunami in Samoa. Entry is by gold coin donation.
