Kahvarn Morrison is a son, grandson, great grandson and great great grandson.
He was born in Rotorua at 6.47am on Friday, September 23, weighing seven pounds 14 ounces, and recently spent the day with his mum Kristine Pinker, nan Katherine Bennett, great granddad Hori Bennett and great great grandmother Oha Bennett, who lives at the Kawaha Point Manor.
The whole family of five generations are pleased their latest addition will get the chance to be brought up with everyone who is close to his mum.
"[I'm] pretty happy because I never got to meet mine [great great grandmother] on any side of the family," Miss Pinker said.
She said having five generations was a blessing and something Miss Pinker and the rest of the family were really proud of.
"It's just something special ... he's lucky," she said.
"We're quite stoked because there's not many families that have the five generations," Mr Bennett said.
Oha Bennett loves her very first great great grandson and Katherine Bennett said because her own grandmother was in pretty good health, her grandson would be able to really get to know her.
"He'll grow to an age where he'll be able to interact with her a lot more," Miss Bennett said.
But the five generations isn't the only thing unique in this family - baby Kahvarn shares his birthday with his aunty Jazmin Hurihanganui.
For the last three-years Jazmin hasn't been able to celebrate her birthday because of deaths and injuries in the family, but this year she sees Kahvarn's birth as a special moment. She loves sharing her day with him, calling him a great "birthday present".
