The Rotorua District Library is a favourite place to visit for locals and visitors alike.
Based in Haupapa St, it offers something for every age group, said library marketing and promotions officer Sue Heke.
``We have more than 150,000 books and any one of our 40 staff are happy to help with any enquiry,'' Mrs Heke said.
``We also run school holiday programmes, e-book workshops and have an extensive Te Arawa and Maori collection in the Don Stafford Room and all his files on Rotorua.''
Mrs Heke said tourists often relaxed and enjoyed using library services or Wi-Fi.
``They often ask us for general information about Rotorua too but we receive lots of compliments about how they think the library rates highly as one of the best they've been to.''
Events are regularly held such as ``meet the author'' and storytime for children.
The Rotorua Daily Post Essential 50 lists the city's must-see, must-do and must-try activities thanks to reader nominations. We'll be highlighting one every day over summer.
