Donald Trump has lashed out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a fiery tweet upon hearing the couple are now residing in the US.
Trump accused the couple of expecting the US to pay for their security. However, according to the Daily Mail a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they "had no plans to ask the US" for help
The spokesperson added that "privately funded security arrangements have been made" and the couple did not need any help.
Their reply came hours after the US President tweeted that the couple should foot the bill for their bodyguards after they left Canada last week.
The tweet read: "I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!"

The couple took a private jet to Los Angeles with their son, Archie, before the non-essential travel between Canada and the US was suspended.
The Sussexes are now living near Hollywood, with the area being familiar to Markle who grew up with her mother, Doria, in Los Angeles.
The British Metropolitan Police are still responsible for the security of Harry and Meghan and it is understood Scotland Yard will still provide their own protection officers in the US.
Prince Harry and Trump recently hit a speed bump in their previously cordial relationship when a leaked phone call revealed him saying Trump has "blood on his hands".
During the call to Russian hackers, posing as Greta Thunberg, Harry took aim at the President's environmental record.
He said: "I think the mere fact that Donald Trump is pushing the coal industry is so big in America, he has blood on his hands".
He later added: "Unfortunately the world is being led by some very sick people so the people like yourselves and younger generation are the ones that are going to make all the difference."
Meghan also has previous issues with Trump, blasting him on TV when she was an actress, calling him "misogynistic" and "divisive" before he was elected to office.
Last year the President hit back at the former actress saying: "I didn't know she was nasty".
