An ex-boyfriend proved he can still be friends with his former girlfriend after he hilariously RSVP'd "yes" to her wedding in the most clever way.
Hayley Stamper, 21, from Lincoln, Nebraska - asked people who RSVP'd to her wedding to include what song would get them on the dance floor. But she was left laughing when she received the card back from her ex-boyfriend, Thomas Hoefener.
He RSVP'd "yes" and hilariously requested Heartland's country music hit I Loved Her First as the tune that would get him to dance.
"My ex-boyfriend just rsvp'd to my wedding and LOOK AT THE SONG HE REQUESTED," Stamper wrote on Twitter with a picture of the RSVP card last week.
People online thought the response was clever and it has since been liked more than 100,000 times, the MailOnline reported.
Once the tweet started to pick up traction, Stamper clarified her relationship with her ex.
"Before you quote me with 'why tf did you invite your ex' here's my response!!! We Broke up over 5 years ago!
"Not every breakup has to have a traumatic ending, thus we're still friends who can laugh and joke around.
"If my fiance and ex can laugh at this tweet, you should too!" She wrote on Twitter.
Stamper is marrying her fiance, Austin, who went to the same high school with the 21-year-old when she was dating her ex. This type of response was exactly what she expected from him when she sent the RSVP card.
But the woman told Buzzfeed News that some people have "slut-shamed" her for inviting her ex.
"Everyone gave me so much crap on Twitter for it, but it really wasn't a big deal," she said.
"All three of us have always been friends, and both my ex and my fiance were on the same football team."
Not everyone reacted poorly to the tweet, and some even applauded them for remaining on good terms after their break-up.
One person asked if the former couple will actually take to the dance floor at Stamper's wedding if I Loved Her First comes on.
"We're friends but not that crazy," Stamper responded.
