The building industry has created New Zealand's first-ever event to promote and advise on cost-effective ways to renovate.
Organised by Construction Marketing Services (CMS), the programme runs in Auckland until December.
A key feature of the event is the Registered Master Builders' Renovation Show Home.
The house displays common problems faced by renovatorsof old properties, and it demonstrates the solutions, products and services that are available to improve homes and make them more energy-efficient.
The house will be fully automated for the future with a total refit of the kitchen, the living area, the bathroom, the bedrooms and the garden.
The show home will be at PlaceMakers, Lunn Ave, Mt Wellington, until it is auctioned on Saturday, December 8, at 1 pm, by Stuart McLoughlin of Impact Realty, Takapuna. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Yellow Ribbon - Youth at Risk Suicide Prevention Programme.
CMS is promoting Fletcher Building's Build It Rite Services with an on-line directory and an advisory service.
