Two commercial lots are available for the first time within the new Kumeu Central subdivision.
Colliers International brokers Caroline Cornish and Craig Smith are marketing Lot 1 and Lots 24/25 at Kumeu Central for sale by deadline private treaty. Offers close at 4pm on November 7unless the sites are sold earlier.
They are also seeking expressions of interest from retail and office tenants looking to establish a presence in the development.
On Main Rd, an estimated 20 minutes from Auckland CBD, Kumeu Central is a 10ha mixed-use subdivision with a range of commercial, retail, live/work and residential sites. Access to the subdivision is directly off Main Rd, with the exit being via a controlled intersection adjacent to Kumeu's New World supermarket.
The first residential stage is scheduled for construction from mid-2019, and the full offering will include 174 low-rise terrace houses, 88 mid-rise apartments and 22 live/work units.
Cornish says the commercial lots being offered to the market are ready to build on now, pending issue of titles early next year. The sites are being offered either individually or combined.
"Business Town Centre zoning allows for intensive mixed-use development, with retail on the ground floor and offices on the upper floors. Suitable tenants could include cafes, convenience food retailers, medical users, and small offices such as local law or accountancy firms."
He says Lot 1 has an area of 3346sq m. The site has excellent exposure and frontage to Main Rd, a main arterial with high passing traffic flows.
Lots 24/25 will be sold together and have a combined site area of 3086sq m. These lots are on,what will be, a high-profile corner by the residential area, opposite live/work units.
Smith says Kumeu Central aims to offer modern living at its best.
"Wide, landscaped streets will have unimpeded access, while beautiful landscaped parks, waterways, walkways and playgrounds will complement the development."
Historically a rural centre, the Kumeu area has become increasingly popular as a residential and lifestyle destination.
"Only 5km from the end of the Northwestern Motorway and 25km from Auckland's CBD, it's within an easy commute of the city centre and the booming northwest," Smith says.
"Kumeu has attracted a significant number of new businesses in recent years including high-quality wineries, restaurants and cafes."
Smith says Auckland's West Coast beaches and leisure attractions, including golf courses and equestrian facilities, are among the area's key appeals.
"With the first commercial lots at Kumeu Central up for sale, this is a chance for developers and tenants to capitalise on the tremendous and sustained growth in the area."
