Reasonable weather is shaping up for the Auckland area this weekend. Today it will be fine and sunny. Tomorrow will be fine at first, followed by increasing cloud and light winds. Sunday will be cloudy with a few showers, easing in time for the Corrs concert at North Harbour Stadium in the evening.

The Spring Garden, Leisure and Craft Show runs from 9 am to 4 pm tomorrow and Sunday at the showgrounds in Station Rd, Pukekohe. Free admission and parking - and a free carrying service from the stalls to your car.

* Another day: Born on this day in New York in 1923, Jean Nidetch was a self-described "overweight housewife obsessed with eating cookies". She called in her friends and together they designed eating plans for themselves. They took the weight off and kept it off. Weight Watchers was born.
