Abysmal results for Labour and leader Phil Goff in the latest political polls, less than two months out from the general election.
National would be able to govern alone going by both the TV3 and TVNZ polls, with Labour registering well below 30 per cent.
In TV3's Reid Research political poll, Labour has its lowest result in recent history, down 2.2 points to 26.2 per cent. If that was the result on election day, at least nine sitting MPs would be out of a job.
National's up 3.5 per cent to 57.4 per cent, the Greens up 0.5 per cent to 9.8, while all other parties are down and sitting well below five per cent.
TV One's Colmar Brunton poll had Labour down one to 29 per cent while National was stable on 56 per cent.
The Greens are up three to nine per cent, while yet again all other minor parties are down.
Voters' confidence in the economy fell, with optimism down 4 points to 45 per cent, and pessimism up the same amount to 35 per cent.
The poll of 1008 eligible voters, conducted between September 24 and September 28, had a margin of error of 3.1 per cent.
John Key is easily the preferred prime minister in both polls.
