Situation:

A ridge lies over central New Zealand today, and northwesterlies strengthen over the lower South Island ahead of a front. The front moves north over the South Island today before weakening. A low tracks past the north of the North Island during Saturday as another ridge builds over New Zealand. A second front moves northeast over the country during Sunday and Monday.
