The trial for a man accused of fatally stabbing a woman at a party will go ahead next year.
Roy Charles Mataki, of Upper Hutt, has been accused of murdering Sherena Williams, 24, who died a day after being stabbed on March 12
Today, he made a brief appearance in the High Court in Wellington.
Mataki was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Ms Williams' 19-year-old brother Damien after the attack in a car park near an apartment.
However, this charge was amended to wounding with reckless disregard for the safety of others at today's hearing.
Justice Robert Dobson remanded Mataki in custody until his trial, which was set to take place on February 9 next year.
