A fire that destroyed a house early this morning in Lyttelton is being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to Brenchley Rd at about 1am where the trees surrounding the house were also alight.
No one was at the house at the time of the fire.
Southern communications centre
shift manager Andrew Norris said the fire was "quite large".
The fire was contained by about 4am.
