The search for a man feared drowned at Piha beach, west of Auckland, continued this morning.
The 35 year-old was swept off rocks at Dawson's Ledge while he was out fishing. Lifeguards were alerted yesterday when another fisherman saw the missing man go under the water and not surface.
A search yesterday involving a plane, helicopter and various water craft recovered some clothing.
Garry Larsen of the Auckland Police Maritime Unit says people are still taking unnecessary risks, and do not look at the state of the sea.
He said more resources were being committed to the search this morning.
