Urgent reviews on Christchurch venues, including on AMI Stadium, need to be completed before it will known what effect the earthquake will have on the Rugby World Cup.
Mayor Bob Parker has said the city is "utterly, absolutely, totally committed" to hosting games. Yesterday Bryan Pearson, the chief executive of VBase, which runs AMI Stadium, said reviews were being done by specialist contractors.
Ground staff could be seen working at the stadium yesterday and it is understood damage to the playing field is being repaired.
