A Tātau Kōrero: Pat Makiri

In this series, we wanted to find out who are our people in Te Tairāwhiti 250 years after the arrival of Lieutenant James Cook and his crew on the Endeavour, and what are the things that make up our community including insights, reflections, views and opinions. Pat is not one to be in front of the camera, in fact you usually find him behind it. He is a camera operator and editor and has been in the television industry for over 20 years, working on developing and creating stories for the screen. Pat now works with resident Te Ao reporter Te Kuru Dewes and helps tell news stories affecting the people of this region. Pat talks about his love for Kaiti, his home, his Japanese heritage and the passion that drives his family year in year out with Pirates Rugby Club. Video / Otago Daily Times
