Petrol prices will drop 10c a litre around the country after announcements today from the four major oil companies.
Shell, BP, Caltex and Mobil will drop their prices immediately.
Shell and BP are reducing the price of petrol and diesel by 10c a litre until midnight tomorrow.
Mobil's price discount on all grades lasts until 9am Sunday, and Caltex expects to continue its petrol promotion until midnight tomorrow. Caltex did not indicate if it was dropping diesel prices.
Challenge Petroleum Ltd has also matched the 10c a litre price drop for petrol and diesel in a promotion that will end at midnight tomorrow.
The price drop means regular petrol will cost between 76.9c and 86.9c a litre; premium petrol will be between 81.9c and 91.9c a litre and diesel will cost between 45.9c and 49.9c a litre.
