Marlborough winemakers are moving their annual wine promotion upmarket this year - to the Beehive in Wellington.
In past years wineries have used events such as a Cook Strait sauvignon blanc yacht race, or promotional tastings open to the public.
This year's event has been renamed the Marlborough Celebration and will be held as an exclusive function in Parliament.
The Beehive will host 38 wineries offering 114 new season wines to wine industry figures, politicians and other VIPs on October 5.
Economic Development Minister Jim Anderton has issued the invitations on behalf of the Marlborough Winegrowers.
