Cliceu Goncalves Romagnoli-Junior, 36, pleaded guilty to 21 fraud charges in the Auckland District Court yesterday.
The former financial assistant employed by Wilson & Horton, publisher of the Herald, had pleaded not guilty last July to more than 150 fraud charges and had been committed for trial.
But yesterday his lawyer, Richard Earwaker, said the defendant was now pleading guilty to an amended indictment of 21 counts. A trial was no longer needed.
Crown prosecutor Emma Priest said most of the condensed charges related to $447,255 in unauthorised transactions between March 2001 and May 2002.
Romagnoli-Junior was remanded on bail to July 2 for sentencing.
