A New Zealand woman allegedly found in possession of two false passports will be deported to New Zealand to face charges, Australian authorities said today.
The 47-year-old, who has not been named, will be escorted across the Tasman on Monday or Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) told NZPA.
The woman was arrested in Victoria on February 5 and has remained in custody although the nature of the charges she will face in Australia and New Zealand have not been released.
"There's raft of charges I'm not sure which fits within the Australian legal system or the New Zealand legal system so I can't discuss it," ACC spokeswoman Mariem Omari said.
Australian investigators are continuing their probe and the woman may eventually have to be return to Australia to face charges.
The ACC alleges the woman has been using fake driver's licences, passports and credit cards since arriving in Australia four months ago.
It is also claimed she arrived in Australia while travelling on a false passport.
She was also allegedly found in possession of a United States driver's licence and complete portfolios of documents to substantiate at least five different identities.
The investigation is expected to continue for several months.

Warbirds over Wanaka
Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts turned out to see some impressive aircraft in action yesterday at a preview of the Warbirds over Wanaka show this weekend. The popular event had been grounded for the past six years, partly because of Covid pandemic restrictions. This Easter weekend it returns, with a sellout crowd of more than 60,000 people set to attend today and tomorrow. Photos / George Heard
