Children will be banned from sitting on Santa's knee at a festive Mosgiel market on Sunday, because organisers fear liability.
Instead, children will be asked to sit next to the big man, on "elf chairs", as they discuss their Christmas wishlist.
Market organiser Gail Thompson said she feared children coming back in "15 years time" with allegations about Santa's behaviour.
