Three men and a woman are due to appear in court tomorrow after police said they had busted the first credit card ring seen in New Zealand.
They said equipment allegedly used for the production of illegal credit cards had been recovered through a search warrant in West Auckland.
Four people were scheduled to appear in Auckland District Court tomorrow facing charges including burglary, receiving, conspiracy to commit forgery, obtaining a document and attempted false pretences.
Their arrests came during an operation dubbed Pole, which was started after police received information about an alleged conspiracy to forge credit cards.
Police said the arrests sent a message to the community that this type of crime would be investigated and offenders brought before the courts.
They also warned members of the public to be vigilant about their credit cards, especially when their cards were in the hands of others.
