Former Race Relations Conciliator Gregory Fortuin has been appointed to the Accident Compensation Corporation board.
One of three new appointments to the board announced yesterday, Mr Fortuin had to stand down from his previous high-profile position after he became embroiled in the meltdown of the Alliance this year.
ACC Minister Ruth Dyson said Mr Fortuin would bring new skills to the board.
"Before he served as Race Relations Conciliator, Mr Fortuin had extensive senior management experience in the New Zealand and Australian superannuation and life insurance industry. His involvement in community activities is ongoing."
Also appointed to the board were Brenda Tahi, the director of her own strategic management consultancy, and Eion Edgar, a sharebroker and investment banker who is also chancellor of Otago University.
The appointments - replacing George Hickton, June McCabe and Trevor Jane - run until 2005.
