The vehicle of a missing woman has been found crashed on the same road she was last seen walking her dog in the early hours of this morning.
Judith Nash, 75, has not been seen or heard from since about 5.30am, when she was spotted walking her dog Scooter on the Motueka Valley Highway.
Members of the public found her car crashed on the same stretch of road later.
Despite making the discovery some time this morning, it was not reported to authorities until just after 6 o'clock this evening, a police spokeswoman said.
Nash was reported missing shortly after 5pm
Tasman Police are appealing to the public for any sightings of Nash since.
Police said she had been walking with Scooter - who is also missing - towards Motueka and had been wearing jeans, a multi-coloured shirt and a beige jacket.
"Given the time Judith has been missing, police have concerns for her wellbeing,'' the spokeswoman said.
Anyone who has seen Nash, who lives in Stanley Brook, is being urged to get in touch with police immediately.
