Emergency services freed a man who was trapped under a silage bale on a Napier property.
Fire communications shift manager Dave Meikle said they were called at 3.18pm this afternoon at the Franklin Rd, Waiohiki address, off Links Rd.
Two appliances from Napier attended the incident.
A St John Ambulance Service spokesperson said the man was trapped under a 600kg bale.
There was no vehicle access at the scene and the patient was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital in the rescue helicopter.
A Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokesperson said the man in his 50's remained in a critical condition.
At 5.15pm police and the fire service were called to a collision involving a motorcycle, a truck and a car on Pakowhai Rd, Hastings.
The road was closed both directions so emergency services could clear the scene, no injuries were reported.
Police and fire were called again at 5.47pm, after a vehicle collision outside Havelock North.
A teenager was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a car and a truck at the intersection of Te Aute and Gilpin roads.
At 9.49pm, a Hawke's Bay District Healthboard spokesperson said the teen was in a stable condition.
